Various level crossings have been closed and replaced by this bridleway bridge between Trimley and Felixstowe, as part of a scheme to provide extra track for container trains.

A fairly new cycle link on Hopehill Road, including some new green space created by shortening the former carriageway on this side of the closure.

A dropped kerb in the middle of the end of the road would be preferable to one at the side, not least due to the obstruction of the columns and tactiles next to them. The path to the left leads to the Garscube Landscape Link #23797. UPDA ... [more]

  • Icon 152130 Cycle Shelter to leave bikes when using the bike facilities
  • Icon 152129 Because of the angle of Outwood Lane, often cars push out onto the mainroad to get a better view for pulling out, however this then encroaches on the cycling lane and create a possible collision. Also there is severe damage on the tarmac which makes this area a little risky when travelling down hill. Suggest: cycle lane in another colour to highlight cycles coming past and relaying the pavement.
  • Icon 152125 https://www.cambs.police.uk/news-and-appeals/cyclist-dies-following-collision-in-grantchester "A cyclist has died following a collision in Grantchester on Friday (31 July). The man, who is in his 50s, was cycling along a roundabout at the A603 junction with Barton Road, when he was involved in a collision with a white Vauxhall Astra at about 7.30pm. Emergency services attended and he was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. However, he died of his injuries in hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning (1 August). The driver of the car was uninjured and stopped at the scene. Anyone who witnessed the collision or the car or cyclist in the lead up to it, or has dash cam footage, is urged to contact us via our web-chat or by calling 101 quoting incident number 504 of 31 July." https://www.cambridgeindependent.co.uk/news/police-name-cambridge-cyclist-who-died-following-accident-at-grantchester-9119298/ "Michael Roff, 57, of Sidgwick Avenue, Cambridge, was cycling along a roundabout at the A603 junction with Barton Road on Friday, July 31, when he was involved in a collision with a white Vauxhall Astra at about 7.30pm."
  • Icon 152124 During drop off and pick up times cars should be banned on Newstead Road enabling parents to use the road to social distance. It will improve childrens safety.
  • Icon 152118 Traffic island but no dropped kerb on either side so inaccessible for Many
  • Icon 152117 Path needs redoing all in the pound then it will be wider for distancing as at the moment its akl over grown with grass
  • Icon 152116 Path isn't very wide especially when walking down there with children and on Sundays it is the only way to get to flitwick from Westoning as there are no buses.
  • Icon 152115 There is only school on that road. No other buildings. With a lot of kids and parents on the drop off and pick up it’s hard to keep social distance without waiting on the street. Also during the school hours kids need to cross this road going to the school play field. Please consider to close the road to keep everyone safe.

  • Icon 152112 It is often not wide enough (even when the vegetation is cut back. The camber of the pavement also makes it hard for wheelchairs and buggies to negotiate safely. The crossing at Flitvale garden centre also needs to be safer, maybe with a pedestrian island/sanctuary. In all honesty, a lot of commuters, school children and locals, in general, walk all the way from Westoning into Flitwick. The whole path would benefit from widening to make a cycling and pedestrian path. The road is quite horrible for cyclists to safely use; as drivers often overtake dangerously (we live on this road and witness it regularly, most worryingly, through the S-bend at Flitvale).
